Dr. Karen Jaggers and Lauren Jaggers are proud to hold the title of Certified Autism Specialists.  This certification requires a master's degree as well as extensive experience and expertise working with individuals on the autism spectrum.

Certified Autism Specialists are professionals who are responsible for providing services or support to individuals who have cognitive disorders (including autism) as a part of their scope of work. These certificates focus on the latest research and best practices in the following areas related to autism and other cognitive disorders: an overview of autism, the behavior of people on the autism spectrum, IEP and program development, early childhood education, approaches and strategies for parent communication, and comorbidity with relation to autism and other cognitive disorders.

As a parent of a child with autism and as a sibling of a person with autism, they bring both personal and professional experience to help families with disabilities. Dr. Jaggers is the founder and past president of Katy Autism Support, a past member of the Katy ISD Special Education Advisory Committee, and a past Board of Director for Easter Seals of Houston, Houston Area Respite Centers, and Family to Family Network.

 

Dr. Jaggers is well known in the Houston area as a behavior and educational consultant, speaker, and group leader specializing in family dynamics, behavioral challenges, and challenges related to families with disabilities. She has been the featured speaker at both the National Autism Association conference and the World Autism Organization conference.
